
Darleen Johns founded Alphanumeric Systems, Inc. in 1979, as a word processing company. She has grown the company from 3 employees to its current 180 employees by shifting her business focus with changing technology. With $60 million in sales, Alphanumeric Systems is a major player in today's business market by providing computer technology, training, support, and technical staff placement.
Ms. Johns serves on the Board of Directors of Capital Bank, the North Carolina 4-H Foundation, and the North Carolina Technology Association. She is President of the NC Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and a lifetime member of the Raleigh Woman's Club.
