The Charlotte chapter of NCTA’s WISE (Women In Science And Engineering) council provides opportunities for women in all aspects of the knowledge workforce to pursue career and personal goals in the field of technology. This chapter consists of a steering committee representing leaders in the Charlotte technology community.
Charlotte WISE provides a forum for discussion of critical issues facing the knowledge workforce. WISE provides inspiration and information for current and emerging leaders in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields, as well as for young women considering career choices.

The Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Kasie Capling, a Charlotte WISE steering committee member who unexpectedly passed away in August 2005. The scholarship has been established to continue Kasie’s legacy of helping foster the careers of individuals in the fields of Information Technology and Engineering. The Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship is presented to one female senior from Mecklenburg County who excels in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and will be attending college to continue her education.

The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) is the primary voice of the technology industry in North Carolina. NCTA is dedicated to growing and strengthening the technology industry through increasing public awareness and influencing key public policy issues. We provide our members the opportunity to network with other industry leaders, share information on critical technologies, and promote their companies. NCTA also has a 501 (c) 3 education foundation which operates and manages its educational programming.
NCTA's mission is "Making North Carolina Number One in Technology and Technology Number One in North Carolina." The organization does this through three main focus areas: executive engagement, public affairs, and a knowledge workforce.
