NCTA's Women In Science & Engineering (WISE) Council encourages and supports women currently in or pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields. The council holds regular meetings to facilitate peer collaboration and mentorship for young women considering these career choices. In addition, quarterly events are held that explore pervasive topics and feature women that are subject matter experts in their respective fields. It is the goal of the WISE Council to:
Spearheading the initiatives of the council is the Charlotte WISE Chapter. This chapter's steering committee consists of women leaders in the Charlotte technology community.
